A look at the upcoming school year.
In 2014, Indianapolis was ranked the worst in the nation for having the most areas of people with limited access to food. Since then, those numbers have only gotten worse. These areas are collectively labeled as, “food deserts,” meaning areas where residents must travel miles out of their way to simply get groceries.
Since its inception, The Patachou Foundation’s mission has been a simple response to this dire need: To feed nutritious meals to at risk and food insecure children in Indianapolis.
This coming fall, The Foundation will be serving meals at seven Indianapolis-area schools. That is two more than we served last year! Due to this extraordinary growth, we are always searching for new volunteers.
If you would like to help us serve food, contact us at volunteer@thepatachoufoundation.org.
