NOW OPEN: Foundation Coffee Company
We are proud to announce Foundation Coffee Company, a social enterprise of The Patachou Foundation, opened in late November 2019, at 4565 Marcy Lane.
Proceeds from Foundation Coffee Company will benefit The Patachou Foundation which provides more than 1,500 scratch-made afterschool meals each week and hands-on education to food-insecure students at eight Indianapolis-area schools.
“We are excited to be a part of the Keystone-Monon community and to meet our new neighbors over a cup of coffee. This initiative represents just one way The Patachou Foundation continues to create a radically sustainable organization by innovating the traditional nonprofit model,” says The Patachou Foundation Executive Director Matthew Feltrop.
Foundation Coffee Company offers locally roasted coffee and espresso drinks, housemade pastries, panini sandwiches, salad, and soup with an emphasis on local ingredients and sustainability. The food is made daily by The Patachou Foundation’s Executive Chef Twinkle Van Winkle.
In partnership with Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS), The Patachou Foundation will launch a Food Fellowship, a six-week summer employment program for high school students at partnering schools in summer 2020. The Food Fellowship is a paid, real-world job experience in urban farming, culinary skills, and hospitality that will equip students with transferable skills and credentials to immediately enter the workforce or pursue a career in the food system. Students will train and work at Foundation Coffee Company as part of this unique curriculum.
Foundation Coffee Company is open to the public and attached to the private offices and production kitchen of The Patachou Foundation next to historic Marcy Village Apartments.
Hours for Foundation Coffee Company are 7am - 2pm Monday through Friday, 8am - 2pm Saturday. Closed Sundays. For more information, visit foundationcoffeecompany.org.
