Our Mission

Cultivate an equitable future for youth by amplifying the value and power of food.

Did you know?

One in five kids faces food insecurity in Indianapolis, an unacceptable statistic that hasn’t changed in more than a decade. Our innovative approach to fighting hunger meets the immediate needs of food and nutrition security while addressing the root causes of childhood hunger, such as poverty. Patachou Inc. employees play a critical role in sustaining our work throughout the year during the Back to School fundraising campaign held each August.

Our Solution #FightHunger3Ways

Meals for Kids

No child deserves to go to bed hungry. We fight hunger by serving kids nutritious, after-school and school break meals. But the work we do goes beyond the plate: our staff and volunteers model positive mealtime behavior and create meaningful interactions that brighten kids’ days and fuel their curiosity.

Food Fellowship

The Food Fellowship is a paid six-week summer workforce development program for high schoolers centered around the food system. Students learn transferable skills in farming, cooking, hospitality and customer service, as well as career-readiness, finance and business basics, and communication techniques.

Pataschool

School meals are the most effective route to radically improve food security for children. PataSchool is a new initiative that helps transform a school cafeteria and build capacity within a school community to fight hunger in a long-term, sustainable way.
