How did you hear about The Patachou Foundation?
One of my business partners volunteered with Patachou Foundation at Thomas Gregg Elementary and invited me to come along. I had so much fun with the kids that I attended training and started volunteering regularly at IPS 58 with my good friend and volunteer buddy, Erin.
What do you love most volunteering with us?
I love volunteering with Patachou Foundation because the reward is so great for just an hour-long commitment. I enjoy being a part of providing nourishing food and friendship to the kids. In the midst of a busy week, volunteering with Patachou Foundation reminds me of what’s important in life.
Can you tell me your favorite memory or story from volunteering with us?
My favorite memory is seeing one of the little boys thoughtfully save some food and prepare a plate to take home to his mom. He taught me never to take the food and family I have for granted.
What is your favorite food as a child or memory around food?
Growing up, my parents, brother and I would have dinner together every night. Not only was it an opportunity to share a meal, but it was also a chance for us to talk about our lives, reconnect, laugh and build memories that have stayed with me. Volunteering with the Patachou Foundation allows me the opportunity to, in a small way, do the same for the kids they serve.
